Top 9 Products To Borrow From The Boys

I’d spend my last dollar in the name of pretty packaging, because, well, I love how it looks on my Instagram feed. Just kidding! (kind of)… Long story long,  I’m a beauty and skincare product junkie. As you can imagine, this has posed to be un petit problem when Scott and I downsized from our multiple-bathroom, SoCal abode to our one-bathroom, teeny-TINY, Manhattan apartment this summer.

As someone newly obsessed with the challenge of how to decorate small spaces, while chicly maximizing storage, I’ve been been on a mission to free up our high traffic, 3-cabinet  (yes, that’s ITTTT) bathroom real estate. First step? Streamlining our items  down to the essentials. While I have managed to get creative in saving space, I’ve also gotten fully addicted to some of Scott’s products in the meantime.

THE UNISEX BATHROOM CABINET
The “Penthouse” space (aka the cabinet closest to the shower)  is saved for Scott’s stuff, as well as toiletries and skincare that we BOTH use. One brand that we literally fight over, is one of his long-time favorites that I’ve since–ahem– stolen: Anthony Skincare. Their tagline, “Designed for men, borrowed by women” could not be more appropriate. We had the unique pleasure of meeting founder Anthony Sosnick last season during NY Fashion Week, and got some valuable insight into his newest launches, and the philosophy behind the brand. Here’s a round-up of my top 9 products to borrow from the boys, which also include some of my guy-approved, unisex must-haves.

TOP 9 PRODUCTS TO BORROW FROM THE BOYS:

1. Anthony Glycolic Exfoliating & Resurfacing Wipes $18 (for 30 wipes)
I love anything that is quick, easy and can multi-task! These uniquely textured wipes resurface and smooth skin in one step. Swipes away dirt and grime, gently exfoliates to remove dead skin cells, minimizes pores, evens skin tone and leaves skin feeling hydrated and smooth.

2. Anthony Wake Up Call  ($38)
With aqua cacteen, green tea, caffeine and menthol, this gel-cream lightweight moisturizer will hydrate the skin while reducing puffiness and inflammation.

3.  Anthony Blue Sea Kelp Body Scrub ($28)
Exfoliates and is perfectly unisex in scent, it just smells deliciously FRESH.

4. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser For All Skin Types ($18 for a 2-pack)
A dermatologist favorite, and safe on almost everyone’s skin – this is your white t-shirt of skincare.

5. Gillette Venus & Olay Razor ($7)
With their aloe-vera halo, these babies give the closest, softest, irritation-free shave and can be used for face (Scott) or body (Me). We’ve tried every brand out there, and these are by FAR the best.

6. L’OREAL Paris Skin Care Pure Clay Mask Detox & Brighten ($10)
Scott hates anything wet on his face, but this he doesn’t mind. Why? 1. He only has to wear it for 10-15 minutes, and thinks it’s more manly because it’s black and has charcoal in it.  Whatever works–I just like to have a partner in crime wearing a face mask with me while watching Netflix!

7. ORIGINS High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-Enriched Renewal Cream ($43)
Smells like heaven, and you wake up looking like you’re lit professionally from within.

8. Sebamed LIP DEFENSE Stick SPF 30  ($9)
Lip SPF is wildly underrated and is a MUST! I keep another one of these in our camera bag for when we’re out and about.

9. Shaveworks Pearl Polish Dual-Action Body Oil ($28)
When mixed with water, this rich oil gently foams into a luxe, milky texture, without any greasy residue, leaving the skin touchable, soft and scented with notes of ginger, lavender and vanilla.
