To me, nothing is more fabulous, decadent, or relaxing than an afternoon tea, especially in Paris. When The Peninsula Paris invited Scott and I to experience their tea at their location during our recent visit to Paris during Fashion Week, our answer was a resounding OUI!
Over the next month, I’ll be publishing lots of content from my Paris travels, but I had to start with the first MUST-visit on my list, afternoon tea at The Peninsula Paris.
For my longtime followers, you may remember that I celebrated my birthday at with afternoon tea at The Peninsula Beverly Hills back in 2016, and am also a fan of The Peninsula Hotel in NYC.
In my mind, The Peninsula is kind of like Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, nothing bad can happen at a Peninsula Hotel. I’ll take any opportunity I can to get dressed up, use turn-of-the century tea sets, and eat desserts in a gorgeous setting.
We walked in and were immediately enchanted by the ornate decor. I’m a details girl, and no detail was left unturned. From the gilded crown moulding, to the antique mirrored accents, to the sparkling chandeliers, to the palms, it is the epitome of French glamour. (aka….everything I believe in.)
With impeccable service, and knowledgable staff, it’s impossible to not have a good time. (we were even brought special chocolate cookies in observance of International Women’s Day – such a lovely, thoughtful touch)
With a menu of champagne, assorted teas, finger sandwiches and decadent pastries, we loved everything we tried and were completely full afterwards. After our tea, we walked the grounds of the hotel, which are absolutely stunning. We couldn’t get enough of the property, and have already added it to our wish list of where to stay the next time we’re in Paris.
